Sue Ryder Manorlands
Here at Sue Ryder Manorlands, we combine specialist medical care for managing pain and other symptoms, with other emotional, practical and spiritual support. You might be admitted to receive inpatient care for a short time while your symptoms are assessed and managed.
You might stay with us to receive inpatient care for a short time or a longer stay. We can offer the same services and care to you as a visitor, by using our community day services, if you are comfortable at home, well supported and prefer to stay there.
On the medical side, our experienced doctors, Sue Ryder Nurses, care assistants, physiotherapists, and occupational and complementary therapists all work brilliantly together to support you. Our wellbeing and community support team are always ready to talk too.

Haworth Riding for the Disabled
Haworth RDA is a non-profit making charity established in 2001 with one rider, one pony and three volunteers. In the last nineteen years we have grown significantly and now cater for over 160 + riders, have 11 specially trained horses and over 25 regular volunteers.
We offer people with physical and learning disabilities horse riding and stable management lessons throughout the year. The minimum age for our riders is four years old and we have no upper age limit. Horse riding improves core strength, flexibility, suppleness of limb and develops fine and gross motor skills. In addition, social interaction increases confidence, self-esteem and social skills.
All lessons are led by qualified RDA group instructors and focus on learning in a fun and friendly way with the playing of games, riding to music and verbal interaction. We have access to a physiotherapist and have a Child Development Officer, both of which can custom fit riding plans to each individual rider’s needs ensuring maximum therapeutic benefit.

Worth Valley Foodbank
The Worth Valley Foodbank began operating in February 2020 under the umbrella of the West Lane Baptist Church. The aim of the organisation is to provide short-term relief and prevention of food poverty within the villages of Haworth, Oxenhope, Stanbury, Oldfield, Cross Roads and Oakworth. Whilst taking other measures to combat poverty as appropriate.
The foodbank originally provided a twice weekly service on Tuesdays and Fridays – one hour each session, providing both a walk-up facility and home delivery service. The Foodbank now operates on Tuesdays from 1pm to 3pm, providing both deliveries and walk up services.
The foodbank also provides Aldi food vouchers, funded by our donors, for the families of local Primary school children on free school meals. These have been given out by staff at the schools every half term and every school holiday for the past three years.
Local families say that it's made a huge difference to their ability to feed their children during the school holidays.
